Convincing winners in the end 12-36

Ionians travelled across to Keighley to play in the quarter finals of the Bowl Cup competition.
In what was a keenly contested game both teams adapted to the difficult wind conditions. With the wind behind them in the first half Ionians spent the majority of the time in Keighley's half. Territory kicking from Charlie Kirk kept the pressure on the home team. Will Robinson scored the first try after a good break from James Malcolmson. The skipper then ran in the second try after a quick tap penalty, running down the right wing with the Keighley defence unawares before scoring under the posts. Conversion made 12 to 0
Keighley responded with a try of their own from a set piece down the blindside to score in the corner. 12 to 5.
From then on, while Keighley stuck to the tasks, the Ionians forwards came more dominant in the line and at the break down, with Smeaton and Plater doing some hard graft in securing ball and driving forward, ably supported by Robinson, Hunt, Whitaker, Denley and Betts.
It was From this pressure that Keighley gave away a penalty, which Kirk added the 3 points. Immediately from the restart Smeaton collected the ball and broke through the defence to score down the right and touchdown under the posts.
Half Time 22 to 5.
With the wind in their faces Ionians continued to dominate, as Keighley struggled to press on to Ionians line. Down to 14 players with an injury, didn't help the home teams cause.
As Ionians progressed up field, Centre Cade came more into the game and from a kick through by Kirk, Cade ran onto the ball to score under the posts. 29 to 5.
Ionians final score came from the skipper, Malcolmson, who broke through some tackles to run in the final try. 36 to 12 to the visitors.
