In September 2026, Josh Wilson will be running the Great North Run alongside a group of 12 close friends. Together, they have chosen to support WISHH Charity (Working Independently to Support Hull Hospitals), as Hull & East Yorkshire Hospitals have supported several of our group through moments of loss, treatment and trauma in recent years.

Their aim is to raise £6,000 (£500 each) to help WISHH continue improving facilities, equipment and services across our local hospitals. These enhancements make a real difference, helping provide comfort, dignity and the highest standard of care for patients and their families during some of life’s most difficult moments.

Josh said,
"Last year, we sadly lost our beautiful Mum Sally. During Mums 6 months of treatment at The Queens Centre, Castle Hill. My brother Sam and I got to see the fantastic work WISHH do for local hospitals in Hull and the surrounding areas. The family suites they have in The Queens Centre are so comforting in the most difficult of times. WISHH also provide family rooms to allow children to visit the centre. This was Mum's favourite time. She adored our children, so being able to see them on the hardest days always made her smile. These rooms gave a sense of normality for our family away from the reality of Mum's hospital stays. We have had both happy and sad times in these rooms and would like to thank the staff at WISHH for all their support. Our family will forever be grateful.
