Head of rugby and prolific try scorer, Mal Holden, notched up 100 points for the club when he intercepted a pass and loped three quarters the length of the pitch to score in last week’s match at Billingham.
It was only his 25th appearance for Hull Ionians; he started last season and announced his prowess with a try in his first game against Macclesfield, and then bagged four in a memorable win over Tynedale. Mal continued to score regularly until injury curtailed his season.
Although not as productive so far this season, he has crossed twice in seven matches. Mal is also no stranger to a yellow card, three in 25 games puts him well to the fore in the backline rogues gallery, so there is something the coaches need to work on!
Huge congratulations, Maliq - leading by example
