Hull Ionians RUFC, Brantingham Park
Club Announcement
The Club Operations Board met last night to discuss the extraordinary circumstances we are facing as a Rugby Club, following the advice provided by the Government and the RFU with regard to the Corona Virus.
We have been advised that all rugby related activity must cease during the period 17th March 2020 to 14th April 2020. The Board can confirm that, as a Club, we will be following this advice.
Until further notice and, at all levels within the Club, there will be no rugby played at the Club, at league or cup level or, on a friendly basis. There will also be no facility for training at any level and no rugby related educational courses are to be held at the Club.
All events due to take place at Brantingham Park during this period are also cancelled. This includes the Club Sportsman’s Dinner which was due to take place on 4th April 2020.
The Board recognises that this is will be frustrating news for players, members and supporters of the Club alike. We ask you to remember that we have a duty of care to you all and, to the local community. When the health of our families and friends is at stake, a pause in our sporting activity is a very small price to pay.
Information and advice with regard to measures to be taken appears to be changing on an almost daily basis. As such, the Board have agreed to meet regularly during this period. We will keep you updated on any developments.
We recognise the positive impact that our game has on our well-being. If anyone has any questions or concerns during this period, please do not hesitate in contacting the Club.
Whilst we are taking measures to avoid gatherings, I can confirm that the Club is not closed.
Please stay safe and follow the public health advice. We look forward to seeing you all again soon at Brantingham Park.
