James Sanderson
Saturday’s win over Huddersfield brought up a personal milestone for one of the club's longest-serving players, the stellar James “Sando” Sanderson.
James celebrated starting his 11th season at Ionians by scoring his fortieth try, to rack up 200 points.
Being a “side before self” sort of guy, James hasn’t exactly been a prolific scorer. His best season was back in 2017/18, when he scored 9 tries, and it has taken 193 games for the club for Sando to join the 200 club.
Congratulations to James, who’s next aim will be to earn 200 appearances and then try and chase down Joe Makin’s 265 points, if not his 420 odd appearances. Then again, you never know.
