An early and foggy start to the day with a road trip to Halifax.

The boy were up for this tournament and started very with good off the ball running great tagging and passing. With trys from Charlie Dawson, Thomas Stockton,Matthew Curtis and Ted Malcolson we had a good win to start the tournament. The boys were full of running for the second match and started with two quick trys. But Waterloo came back well with some fast running and quick tagging they pinned ionians barc and went in all square at half time. In the second half Mathew Cutts score a quick try and the boys never looked back running out easy winners putting on 4 more trys. Match three was a tough game with both sides playing very well with good tagging excellent line discipline. This was a high scoring match with some great rugby from the under 8's. Again Ionians come on top with a win. By this time the boys were starting to feel the heat if the day and were lucky the forth match was against a newly former team who put up a great fight but we're no match for Ionians, who again came out good winners .
This is it the final and Ionians were up against an excellent Sheffield side who we a currently level wins from last season. So the boys were well aware this was going to be a tough game with lots of tagging and not many trys. And true to for Sheffield came out fast and well drilled keeping a good line and tagging fast, scoring the first try of the game with good passing. Ionians came back with an excellent team try with quick hands and a fast run from Ted Malcolmson back level. Sheffield score again just before half time. The boys were felling the pressure of the final and were starting the lose focus on the game with a quick team talk out they went for the second half. With both sides scoring a couple of trys the final whistle blow with Sheffield conning out winners by one try.

This was a great day with all the team playing very well, and we are now looking forward to the next match at Hornsea RFU
