Huddersfield U13 v Ionians U13

Ionian's U13's travelled away for the first time this year and maintained their 100% winning record with a convincing 59 v 5 points victory. With Adam Myers captaining the side for the first time, I's hit the ground running with a try by flanker, Will Plater within 3 minutes of the kick off. I's second try was not long coming, with Charlie Kirk running from his own 22, and then some good hands by the I's players and final pass from Paul Evison to let Will Plater get his second converted try. From the restart, Huddersfield kicked the ball and Man of Match, Plater, gathered and set off back towards the Huddersfield try line. Some great work from the backs, Magee, Gibson, Painter helped I's move the ball further up field until a scrum was called. The reliable hooker, Harry Lyon, won the scrum, and the ball was worked quickly down the back line, until Joe Walker, faced with a 2 on 1 situation was able to crash over the line.
Again from the restart Huddersfield picked out Plater, and doing some good work on the blindside, he together with support from Danny Betts and James Magee, I's moved forward. Danny Hornsby had opportunity to score in huge corner, but was held up, and Harvey Gibson, while being held, managed to release a pass to Will Plater, to complete his hat trick of tries within 20 minutes. Score 26 v 0 to the I's.
During the next 20 minutes I's added another 2 tries, with good passing Joe Walker got over the line, and an excellent solo try from Charlie Kirk, skipping past a number of Huddersfield challenges! enabled them to progress to a 40 points to 0 lead. However, Huddersfield had shown some fighting spirit during this period, and had some success with their forwards, at the same time some of the I's forwards, decided that they wanted to play in the back line, and consequently I's possession was limited. Following some words from the coach, the forwards started to do their jobs again, and following some good work from props Will Robinson, and Tex, the backs were able to work the ball again through hands, and Joe Walker secured his third try. 47 v 0, 42 minutes played.
5 minutes later a kick from Charlie Kirk, put the Huddersfield full back, who had returned well previously, under pressure and James Magee picked up the ball and dived over the line. 2 minutes later though, Huddersfield scored in the corner after good work from the forwards.

A final line out showed good work between Harry Lyon and Marshall Holgate, who collected the ball at the front if the line out and ran 20 yards down the blindside wing, to score a solo try, and finish off an excellent running and passing performance by Ionian's.
