Under 15s Review

With players away on holiday, ill, injured and on Yorkshire duty (as well as a few just off a bus from Austria), it was once again a fantastic effort by the lads. The reward for this effort was 8 tries and some of the best running rugby the team has produced for a long time. A number of the tries arriving on the back of excellent support play, the big difference in a game that was keenly contested by two strong teams.

I think that's the correct score! - I forgot my notebook this week, so apologies if I missed anyone's score!!!!.

Moment of the Match
It wasn't just one moment but a great team try, that saw two of the less experienced players make a huge contribution. First Lewis stole the ball in a one-on-one tackle on his opposite number, then as Ionians broke away, Charles tracked the runner and was on hand for the off-load and then he sprinted in for his first try.

As we've said all season long, if you track the runner, there's going to be try scoring opportunities aplenty.

They can't run without their legs
The coaches asked the team before the game to focus on tackling opposition runners low, and every member of the team responded. It was excellent work from everyone and long may it continue!

Man of the Match
Not only did today's top performer play a number of different positions across the back -line (4 I think?), he scored his first try of the season. He then went on to complete a fantastic hat-trick!

It was the sort of strong running we've known this player is capable of, and hopefully there's a lot more to come in the next few weeks. Congratulations Marco Fummo!
