Despite getting off to a poor start, 10 nil down to a very good Wath side and playing into the wind - Ionians managed to stay in the game through a breakaway try and resolute defence.
The second half saw a big improvement and Ionians eventually took the lead. However wasteful kicking gave Wath the possession that eventually allowed them to level the match at 17-17. A fair result between two evenly matched teams.

Moment of the match
The set backs move which saw Luke Adams break the line and put Tom Johnson over in the corner was executed brilliantly. Hopefully we can look to replicate something similar in the next couple of games.
Sporting Cliche of the day
perfect practice makes for perfect performance.
The power of a proper warm up should not be under estimated, before this game it was lethargic and we carried this out onto the field. Giving good teams a 10 point head start is a very risky strategy!
Man of the match
Asked to do a job outside of his usual position he still ran strong and hard throughout and tackled everything that moved. He was also rewarded with a try for his efforts - man of the match was Nathan Bush.
