Is win Plate dress rehearsal

Hull Ionians Under 15s kept their winning run going with a 53-0 win over York. The two teams will meet again next week in the Quarter Final of the Yorkshire Plate.
It was good to see 20 players on duty this week and it gave an opportunity for the coaches to make plenty of changes throughout the game to the XV, whilst ensuring all those who stayed fit at least 45 mins of game time. Again there were strong performances across the team, so competition for a place in the starting team next week will be intense. See you all at training?

Scorers

Tries - Robson Jones (4), Jon Phelan-Wild, Sam Phelan-Wild, Fergus Croston (2), Luke Adams
Cons - Ifan Downey (3), Luke Adams

Sporting Cliche of the Day
It starts 0-0 next week
Despite a good win today, when the same two teams meet next week the game today will be history and there's a whole new game to play. A different venue, hopefully nicer weather, and potentially different players on the field will all mean that teh game could be a completely different event. So lets treat next Sunday as our next game not our last.

Things Coaches Love Award
Statistics!?
Well sometimes they can be overdone but the fact that this season our backs have scored 77% of our tries, last season it was 51%, shows how the team has expanded its game with the quality ball the forwards have been supplying.

Moment of the Day
The forwards' moment was definitely the driving maul from the line-out for over 25m. Great control and communication from all the pack! But again this week's award goes to a bit of 'magic'! An incisive run, an over the head pass to a player running a great support line and best of all a slide to get the ball down for the try. Some of you clearly are listening on a Tuesday night!

Man of the Match
For the second week in a row, this player has brought his speed, direct lines of running and tracking runs on the line breaks to great effect. He didn't get the hat-trick he was looking for but his award is well deserved and it's great to see him back fit - Fergus Croston!
