4 from 4 for our Ladies!

Hull Ionians Women entertained Ryton Roses, who were one place behind them in the table. From an early knock on by the visitors, Hull Ionians Women won their scrum and zig zagged their way up the pitch, before working a space for Helene Van De Langenberg (14) to score in the corner.
Ryton then enjoyed their best period of the game, and came close to scoring several times. It was only because Ionians defended stoutly for 10 minutes, that the visitors were kept at bay. After relieving the pressure, Ionians went all the way up the pitch with several penetrative drives, which really showcased the difference between the two teams. Good ball through the backs got the ball to Alice Ayres (13) who scored in the corner. 10-0

Ryton were now losing focus due to a string of fast play and from a quick penalty Kat Turner (8) went straight through poor defence for Hull Ionians Women’s third try but again failed to convert. 15-0
More cracks appeared in the visitors’ game as they dropped the ball again. Kat picked up and switched the ball to Helene, who barged through two remaining defenders, but was held up over the line. Kat went close again from the restart drop kick, then quick hands saw Chloe crash through the line from close range to score under the posts. 20-0.
Next came the best try of the game with the ball moving swiftly down through the backs to Lauren Vickers (9) who showed

real pace to beat her opposite number from standing start to score, 25-0.
With the clock nearing the 80 minute mark, Kay added to Ryton’s woes, as she picked up from a ruck and stormed through a crowd of Ryton players for try.
With minutes to spare, the kick off resumed the game with Chloe ending the try total with a powerful run, which took her all the way through the whole team. Chloe converted her own try to leave a inalienable score of 37-0.
