The game KO at 1pm and Ionians quickly took control of the ball. After some continued pressure in the Sheffield half, Josh Grater and Charlie Dawson scored a try each, taking us into an early 12-0 lead.

Sheffield hit back with a try to make it 12-5. Hull Ionians scored 2 more tries from Ben Farmer and Ted Malcolmson to make the half time score 24-5.

The second half saw a more determined Sheffield team, they kept the ball alive and camped deep into the Ionians half for 10 minutes, Ionians tremendous defence held out, but in the end Sheffield scored after a quickly taken penalty, 24-10.

Ionians hit back with a couple great team tries, one for Tom Kemp and a second for Ted Malcolmson. Sheffield came back again to make the score 36-15 . The last 10 mins was end to end rugby with both teams playing some great rugby. In the final minute0, Thomas Stockton picked up from the back of a ruck, went through a gap and passed the ball to Vinny Fawcett who went on to score the final try. 41-15, Hull Ionians ran out deservedly winners in the end! Well done boys.
